Adopting through Charley’s Kitty Rescue

We are a small rescue cottage at The Dancing Goat Farm near Oldsmar, Florida. Below is our full adoption process — the same information we share on Facebook, collected here on our site.

Adoption Process at Charley’s Kitty Rescue:

At Charley’s Kitty Rescue, our adoption process is designed to ensure that every cat, kitten and mama cat finds a loving, forever home where they can thrive. We prioritize the well-being of our feline friends while making the experience straightforward and supportive for potential adopters.

  1. Browse Available Cats and Kittens:

    Start by visiting this website and our Facebook page to view photos, bios, and videos of our current adoptable cats. We update listings regularly with details on age, personality, health status, and any special needs.

  2. Contact Adoption Coordinator Anne at anne@dancinggoatdairy.com:

    This is a great opportunity to let us know why you’re interested in adopting and share preferences like if you’re looking for a playful kitten or a calmer adult cat.

    On this site, each cat’s profile also has Apply to adopt, which opens an email to us with that cat’s name and link already filled in.

  3. Meet and Greet:

    Make an appointment with Anne to come visit the Kitty Rescue Cottage at the farm for an in-person meet-and-greet! Email anne@dancinggoatdairy.com with times that work for you. You’ll get to interact with the cat and kittens you’re interested in a cozy, low-stress setting.

  4. Adoption Fee and Contract:

    We require all adopters to be 18+ and commit to indoor-onlyliving for safety. If it’s a match, you’ll pay a modest adoption fee (typically $100 per cat, covering spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, etc...) We’ll go over and sign an adoption contract, which includes commitments to provide ongoing care, not declaw, and return the cat to us if needed.

  5. Take Your New Friend Home:

    Be sure to bring a carrier with you when you visit!
